ローカライズとデザイン

ゲームのローカライズをしていると、次の問題が起こります。

「同じ意味の言葉でも、言語によって字数が異なる
↓
ある言語に合わせてデザインすると、別の言語ではデザインが崩れてしまう」


例えば、roomを意味する言葉はそれぞれ次のようになります。
room（英語）
部屋（日本語）
habitación（スペイン語）
комната（ロシア語）

この時、英語・日本語に合わせて小さいテキスト枠を作ってしまうと、スペイン語・ロシア語の場合は、小さい枠に多くの文字を入れることになり、文字が小さくなってしまいます。

この問題にはいろいろ対処法が考えられますが、以下は僕がやってるものです。

(1)字数が多い言葉は訳さない
例えば、スペイン語・ロシア語の時も英語のroomが表示されるようにします

(2)「字数が少ない」かつ「意味が似ている」言葉で置き換える
例えば、ねこランのレベル選択画面では、「家」を意味する言葉に置き換えました。
habitaciónをcasaに、комнатаをдомに置き換えました。
